Design and Features
Inspired by Skelton’s custom slim EDC Fixed Blade Tanto, the Tuya Scaphoid is both sleek and practical. It features a 3-section carbon fiber inlay on the presentation side and a large carbon fiber inlay on the lock side, ensuring a visually appealing and balanced design. The 6AL4V titanium frame is gently contoured for maximum comfort, with a prominent finger choil near the blade and a mini finger choil at the butt-end for your pinky, providing a secure grip.
The titanium backspacer includes a hidden lanyard opening, maintaining the knife’s sleek profile. The titanium pocket clip, borrowed from the Caladan model, is contoured to eliminate hot spots, ensuring comfortable carry. The flat-faced pivot is radial machined with a satin finish and is captive, preventing it from spinning during adjustments.
Blade Specifications
The blade, made from S90V steel, features an aggressive compound grind. This design offers excellent cutting and slicing capabilities at the main bevel while maintaining a strong and supported tanto tip. The unique short top swedge, ground only at the tip, adds a distinctive look reminiscent of Skelton’s custom Scaphoids.
